Amazon India has launched a new initiative called Amazon Pay Smart Store similar to Google Pay Spot Platform in the country. The primary goal of the service is to provide an online shopping experience to the customers of local brick and mortar stores.

Interested stores can sign up for the program from this page on Amazon India. Stores under this initiative will be provided with a unique QR code. By scanning this, customers can know about the availability of products, compare them, and even check the available offers on them. Additionally, customers can also request for in-store demos and similar services.
Stores participating in this program will be able to provide a wide range of payment options to its customers such as UPI, debit/credit cards, EMI, and bank transfers. Also, they can run exclusive bank/brand offers just like online platforms.
Further, customers will be rewarded with vouchers on every purchase from these stores. They can redeem these rewards at the same store in the future. The store owners can also send digital bills to their customers on successful transactions.
On the other hand, Amazon Pay will promote nearby participating stores to its customers. In this way, these stores will get more exposure compared to others.
The pilot program for Amazon Pay Smart Store began two months back. Currently, more than 10,000 stores have participated in this initiative.
