I love desk lamps, and if it were possible I’ll buy one every month. Back in April, Midea announced a rechargeable desk lamp that also has a fan and a make-up mirror built-in for just under $15. Now they are back with another lamp that has a design that kids will love.

Midea’s new desk lamp moves away from the usual white, gray, or black color finish that most desk lamps have to a bright yellow colorway. For a lamp targeted at kids, they possibly can’t go wrong with that color.

However, the color is just half of what makes this lamp cool. Midea has taken inspiration from Lego bricks in designing the lamp. As you can see, the hinge at the top looks a Lego brick. The base of the lamp also is also designed to hold lego bricks so kids can customize their lamps. Neat, right?

Coming to the features of the lamp; Midea didn’t say the number of LEDs packed into the lamp, but the lamp has an area of 210 x 210 millimeters and a color temperature of 4000K.

The base is home to four buttons including a timer button and you can adjust the brightness with a touch slider underneath. Unfortunately, this doesn’t have a built-in battery but it has a fairly long cord that measures 180 centimeters in length.

The lamp is available for purchase on the Youpin Store for ¥499 (~$71). Yeah, not the cheapest of lamps but if you fancy the design which definitely deviates from the norm, you should go for it.
