The iPhone 11 series launched last year with support for 18W fast charging. The upcoming iPhone 12 series will be taking it a notch higher with support for 20W fast charging.
The 20W charger has been certified by China’s Communication Commission along with a new 5W Apple charger. The 20W charger has a USB-C port, supports Power Delivery, and 5V 3A and 9V 2.2A power outputs. The 3C certificate shows that it is manufactured by Flextronics Power Systems (Dongguan) Co. Ltd.
It has been reported that Apple may not ship its upcoming phones with a charger but the appearance of a new 5W charger may mean that some models of the series will come with one in the box. However, the 20W charger may have to be purchased separately for devices that support it.
Apple is expected to launch four new iPhones – a 5.4-inch model, two 6.1-inch models, and a 6.7-inch model. One of the 6.1-inch models along with the 6.7-inch model may have “Pro” in their names.
