At WWDC (Worldwide Developer Conference) 2020, Apple announced that it is migrating from Intel (x86) processors to its own in-house silicon based on ARM. The company also revealed that first ARM Macs will debut by the end of the year. The same has been now confirmed again by a new report, which also talks about the earlier reported 10.8-inch budget iPad.

According to a report by DigiTimes (via MacRumors), Apple will be launching new ARM-powered 13-inch MacBook Pro and MacBook Air by the end of this year. The total shipments of  MacBook lineup are expected to hit 16-17 million units in 2020 compared to 14.5-15.5 million units in 2019.

The company will be also debuting a new 10.8-inch budget iPad at around the same time. This tablet is expected to feature Apple A12 chipset, however, it is not sure if it will be the successor to iPad Air 2019 or iPad 7th Generation 2019. Also, it is not known whether it will have slimmer bezels like the Pro lineup or continue to use the same old design.

Taiwan’s Radiant Opto-Electronics is all set to ship BLUs (Backlit Units) for both the upcoming MacBook and iPads. Whereas, LG Display, BOE Technology and Sharp will supply panels for the new iPad.
