Samsung is expected to unveil the much-awaited Galaxy Z Fold 2 on August 5 Galaxy Unpacked event. Like any other device, it has leaked multiple times. Yesterday, even its entire design was revealed, courtesy of press renders leak. Now, a new report, fresh out of South Korea, mentions it to retail for the same price as the original Galaxy Fold.

According to a report by DDaily (via SamMobile), the carriers in South Korea have begun to test the Galaxy Z Fold 2 last week. Even, they tentatively agreed with Samsung on its release date as well as the retail price.

The report says the company’s third commercial foldable smartphone will go on sale starting September 18 in its home country. This goes in line with a previous report, which suggested the chaebol to ship the handset in Septemeber, followed by Galaxy S20 FE (Lite) in October.

As far as price is concerned, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is reported to retail for 2,398,000 South Korean Won, which roughly translates to ($2,005). This is exactly the same price Samsung debuted its predecessor last year. That means the second-gen Galaxy Fold will be priced similar to the original ($1,980) in international markets as well.

Previously, it was thought to be priced lower than the 2019 model. Anyway, it is good to see that the price has not increased like the Galaxy S20 series.
