Since the launch of its first smartphone in India, OnePlus as a brand has grown impressively in just a couple of years and has become a popular name in the Indian smartphone market. Now, the company currently holds the title for the No. 1 premium smartphone brand in the region for the second quarter of 2020.
Thanks to the company’s recently launched OnePlus 8 series, the OEM managed to grab a market share of 29.3 percent in the premium smartphone market share in India during Q2 2020. Its latest flagship series was launched back in April 2020 and has been well received in the market with positive critical reception among other praises.

The OnePlus 8 Pro, in particular, boosted the company’s presence in the ultra premium segments being one of the top 3 best selling devices in the category. Furthermore, OnePlus 8 emerged as the number one smartphone model in the premium segment in Q2 2020, with a market share of 19 percent, according to a Counterpoint analysis.
This overall report also marks the highest ever recorded share within the premium smartphone segment in India for the second quarter. OnePlus holding a commanding share showcases the brand’s commitment to the region, which was one of the first regions it saw great success in.
