Redmi Band first debuted in China in the month of April. Later, it was made available as Mi Smart Band 4C in Europe and other regions. Now, it will be launching as Redmi Smart Band in India on September 8 at 12 PM.
The Redmi Band is the first and the only fitness tracker from Xiaomi to feature direct USB charging. Also, it happens to be the first to sport a 1.08-inch color (16-bit) TFT LCD panel with 128 x 200 pixels and touch input. Another first is that it is boxy in design unlike curvy Mi Bands.
The display brightness of Mi Band 4 maxes at 400 nits but the panel on Redmi Smart Band can only go up to 200 nits. Due to the type of its display, the company claims only 14 days of battery life from its 130mAh battery. For comparison, the Mi Smart Band 4 features a 135mAh battery and is rated to run for 20 days on a single charge.
Apart from the above-mentioned differences, it is identical to Mi Band 4 (aka Mi Smart Band 4) in terms of functionalities. That means it includes optical heart rate sensor and 3-axis accelerometer (but no 3-axis gyroscope) to monitor fitness activities. It is even water-resistant up to 5ATM pressure.
Talking bout compatibility, it can be paired with both Android smartphones and Apple iPhones via Bluetooth 5.0 using the Mi Fit app. Last but not least, it should cost around ₹1,500 in India.
