According to the senior official when addressing new employees, “We have had to modify thousands of electronic boards, replace parts, and algorithms to cope with … (the ban) from the US.” As per the South China Morning Post report, the US is cracking down hard on the Chinese tech giant. After losing its chip supply from TSMC, the Trump administration made supplying even more difficult for the company by reinforcing laws that regulate Huawei from receiving supplies from any company that uses American technology.

This has greatly affected the company’s supply chain. Thus, in the Ren Zhengfei stated that Huawei makes constant changes to multiple parts and components in their products while also tweaking its algorithms as well, to better evolve against the US sanctions that seek to remove technology originating from the US. The founder even acknowledged the company’s dire situations at the moment.

He said that Huawei’s 90,000 members of the research and development team wouldn’t need to be so large if the company had access to “high-quality resources like Western companies.” While Huawei has recovered from the initial chip supply blow, the recent regulations have plunged the company back into survival mode to best endure its current situation.
