Xiaomi has been updating its smartphones to MIUI 12 ever since it announced the latest version of its mobile software in April. However, the Redmi Note 9 series, which was introduced only a month prior to the MIUI 12 event has started to receive the update only now.

That said, the MIUI 12 update for POCO M2 Pro comes with build number V12.0.1.0.QJPINXM. On the other hand, the one for Redmi Note 9 Pro Max bears the build number V12.0.1.0.QJXINXM.

The update for both of these phones is currently being rolled out to random users. In Xiaomi’s words, the builds are at present in “Stable Beta” form. That means even if you have the ROM file, you cannot install it through system updater.

Hence, if you have any of these two devices, all you can do is wait for the company to extend the rollout to more units.
