Huawei has recently launched the Nova 8 SE smartphones in China. Rumors have claimed that the Nova 8 lineup also includes Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro phones. Huawei’s sub-brand Honor is also reportedly working on the launch of the Honor V40 series of flagship phones. A Chinese tipster has claimed that the Huawei Nova 8 series and Honor V40 phones will be made official in December.

While Huawei is expected to hold separate launch events for the Nova 8 series and Honor V40 series, there is a possibility that the company may announce them together through the company’s annual press conference. The tipster did not share any new information on the specs of the Nova 8 and Honor V40 smartphones.

Another tipster has shared a schematic to reveal the rear camera layout of the Nova 8 and Honor V40 phones. The image shows that both phones could be equipped with a quad-camera setup. The V40 has a rectangle-shaped camera housing, while the Nova 8 has an oval-shaped camera module. The leak has no information on the cameras of both smartphones.

Honor V40 and Nova 8 series camera design

Recent reports have revealed that the Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro could be arriving with OLED panels with a punch-hole design. The Pro model could be equipped with a dual punch-hole display with curved edges. It is speculated that the Nova 8 could be featuring the Dimensity 820 whereas the Pro model will arrive with the Dimensity 1000+ SoC.

The Honor V40 series is expected to feature a 6.72-inch FHD+ curved screen with 120Hz refresh rate support. The V40 Pro may feature the Dimensity 1000+ SoC and the V40 Pro Plus could be coming with Kirin 9000 SoC. The V40 series is likely to feature a 50-megapixel Sony IMXRYYB primary lens and it could be equipped with a 66W SuperCharge rapid charging and 40W wireless charging.
