Early in October, DxOMark released the camera review for the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G. The flagship phone was awarded an overall score of 120 points (originally 121 points) which put it behind several other phones. Today, DxOMark has released the camera review for the Exynos version of the Galaxy Note 20.

DxOMark Galaxy Note 20 Exynos Version

DxOMark has given the Galaxy Note 20 Exynos version an overall score of 120 points in its review just as it did for the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. However, the breakdown of the score is different for both devices.

The standard Galaxy Note 20 has a photo score of 123 points, a zoom score of 74 points, and a video score of 105 points. The Note 20 Ultra 5G’s own score is broken down into 122 points for photo, 76 points for zoom, and 106 points for video. As we know, the camera configuration is different for both phones but surprisingly, their scores are really close.

The review praises the phone’s exposure and color rendering both indoor and outdoor. While missing a laser autofocus sensor, the autofocus is said to be accurate. For its zoom performance, the Galaxy Note 20 is called “a solid performer”. Its ultrawide camera also trumps several of its competitors’ thanks to its wide field of view and excellent exposure and color.

Coom issues seen in the photos taken with the Galaxy Note 20 are ringing, color fringing, and lower sharpness in ultrawide photos. There is also noise and white balance color casts are said to be often visible in low-light photos.

The Galaxy Note 20 is also regarded as an overall very competent device when it comes to video recording. The exposures are accurate and color rendering is nice. However, the texture is reported to be slightly weak even when outdoors. Just as in photos, autofocus is fast when recording.

DxOMark concludes that the Galaxy Note 20 is a good choice for anyone who is considering it instead of the more expensive ultra model as even with the different camera configurations, camera performance is “very comparable overall”.
