Last week, Lenovo released the first teaser of the upcoming Lenovo Legion gaming smartphone. The teaser revealed that the handset will come equipped with a dual turbo cooling system for heat dissipation. A new Lenovo smartphone with model number L70081 powered by a flagship chipset has appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking platform (via. Abhishek Yadav). It seems that the L70081 could be the next-generation gaming smartphone from Lenovo. It is yet to be confirmed whether it will be launching as the Legion Pro 2 or Legion 2 Pro.

The Lenovo L70081’s Geekbench listing shows that it is driven by the “lahaina’ codenamed Qualcomm chipset that has a base frequency of 1.80GHz. The codename is associated with the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform.

The SD888 chip is coupled with 16GB of RAM. The device is preinstalled with Android 11 OS. In the single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench, the handset scored 1130 and 3779 points, respectively.

At present, there is no information available on the other specs of the Legion Pro 2. Since it has appeared on Geekbench, it seems that the Chinese firm could be internally testing the performance of the device. Probably, it could be planning to launch its next gaming phone in Q2 this year.

The Lenovo Legion 2 Pro will be succeeding the Legion Pro (aka. Legion Duel in China) smartphone. The predecessor model offered specs like a 6.55-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 865 mobile platform, up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The rear shell of the device was fitted with a 64-megapixel main camera and a 16-megapixel ultrawide lens. It was equipped with other specs like dual USB-C ports and an in-screen fingerprint reader.
