A couple of days ago, Realme launched its latest smartphone in its home market China — Realme GT Neo, which comes powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. Now, the company’s executive has shared an opinion related to the pricing of smartphones.
Xu Qi, Vice President of Realme and President of Realme China as well as the President of Global Market for the company, said that the pricing of the smartphones could fluctuate in the second half of this year.

This is mainly attributed to the global shortage of raw materials, including chipsets and batteries. He adds that the pricing will be determined by the overall supply and demand relationship and is likely to increased going by the current scenario.
Last year, Realme had announced its new strategy for the year 2021 — Dual Platform + Dual Flagship. For the high-end devices, the company will be using both Qualcomm Snapdragon and MediaTek Dimensity processors.
It plans to create two flagship offerings, one focusing on performance and the other focusing on photography. The company also plans to take on the mid-to-high end product lineup as a measure to develop the brand.
The company is also expanding its footprints in China. It recently approved more sales points and has crossed 30,000 points and the sales network. It has also expanded after-sales service outlets to more than 1,000, covering over 300 cities.
