OPPO has been updating its older devices with ColorOS 11 based on Android 11 lately. The latest ones to get it were devices like the OPPO A91, Reno2 Z, Reno3 A. Now, the company has started rolling out the update to the OPPO Reno3 5G.

The OPPO Reno3 5G sold via SoftBank in Japan is getting a new OTA update courtesy of the Piunikaweb report. As per the company’s update page, the device has started getting the update with build number A001OP_11_C.13.

This update brings the latest Android 11 to the Reno3 5G device in Japan. This makes the device eligible for getting the update elsewhere. This should also bump up the ColorOS to 11.

If you recall, the OPPO Reno3 5G debuted with ColorOS 7 with Android 10 out of the box and hence, the Android 11 should be the first major Android upgrade for the device. The Android 11 brings features like one-time permissions, app permissions auto reset, chat bubbles and if you want to know more, you can read our coverage.

The ColorOS 11, on the other hand, itself brings a lot of features with it. We have UI customizations, OPPO Relax 2.0, FlexDrop, and more. This stable update comes three months after the commencement of ColorOS 11 Beta in China.

Anyway, if you are someone living in Japan, you can check for the OTA update manually. To do that, go to Settings->Software Update. OPPO recently shared the update rollout plan for April 2021.

Accordingly, it has commenced the Beta program for  OPPO Reno Z, OPPO A73 5G, and OPPO A5 2020, and OPPO A9 2020. We can expect more devices to join the list very soon.
