China-based tech giant Huawei has quietly revealed the 4G variants of the Mate 40 Pro and Mate X2 smartphones in its home country. Both the smartphones are the same as the 5G variants, except that these new models don’t come with support for 5G communication.

While the devices have been listed online on Huawei’s official website in China, the company has not yet revealed the pricing and availability details. We expect the pricing to be lower than their 5G variants but to know for sure, we will have to wait for the official announcement from Huawei.

The smartphone comes with a 6.76-inch OLED display that offers 2772 × 1344 pixels screen resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a 240Hz touch sampling. It comes with a curved screen that is curved at 68-degree.

The phone has support for an under-display fingerprint sensor as well as 3D face recognitions. This is done through dual front-facing cameras — a 13MP Ultra Vision camera and a 3D Depth Sensing camera. On the backside, the device features a 50MP primary sensor, a 20MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 12MP periscope Super Zoom camera. There’s also a 3D depth-sensing camera.

Internally, the device is powered by the company’s own HiSilicon Kirin 9000 chipset but it doesn’t support 5G connectivity. It packs 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage with support for expanding storage using a microSD card.

The device runs the company’s own EMUI 11 based on the Android operating system and is powered by a 4,400mAh that supports 66W wired fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and 5W reverse wireless charging.

On the front, there’s a 16MP camera but users can take super selfies with the rear cameras when the device is unfolded.
