Rumors have it that the OPPO PEXM00 smartphone that was spotted on China’s TENAA and 3C certification sites will be breaking cover as the OPPO K9 5G in China. The smartphone is slated to go official on May 6, and it is already up for pre-orders on Chinese retailer sites. While most specs of the K9 5G, there was no confirmation on its chipset. The Chinese manufacturer has now confirmed that it will be coming with Snapdragon 768G chipset.

The Snapdragon 768G, which fuels the OPPO K9 5G delivers peak clocking speeds of 2.8GHz. This SoC is an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 765G. The company has also confirmed that the K9 will be arriving with 3D liquid cooling technology.

The OPPO K9 5G is expected to arrive as OPPO’s most affordable with 65W fast charging support. The rear-facing triple camera system of the device has a 64-megapixel main camera. The pre-orders listings of the phone have revealed that it will be available in China in options like 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. The phone will be arriving in black and gradient blue color editions.

Other reports have revealed that the OPPO K9 5G has a 6.43-inch AMOLED FHD+ screen, which is integrated with a fingerprint scanner. The display punch-hole features a 32-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls, and its rear camera setup has a 64-megapixel main lens, an 8-megapixel secondary shooter, and a 2-megapixel third camera. The OPPO K9 5G has a 2,100mAh dual-cell battery and it boots to Android 11 OS.

There is no word on the pricing of the OPPO K9 5G smartphone. Part from launching the K9 on May 6, the company will be also unleashing the OPPO Enco Air TWS and a new OPPO Band.
