Chinese handset maker iQOO launched the iQOO 7 in China in January. The smartphone debuted with OriginOS based on Android 11. Four months after its release, the company has already started recruiting Android 12 beta testers.
A month after the announcement of iQOO 7, Google released the first Developer Preview for Android 12. The search giant is expected to announce the Android 12 Beta program at Google I/O 2021 next week. Ahead of that, iQOO has opened registrations for the iQOO 7 Android 12 Beta initiative in China.
In order to enroll in the program, users need to have an iQOO Community account, a QQ account, and will have to fill out a questionnaire. The registrations will run from May 13 to May 19, and the recruited users will be announced on May 20 itself.
According to iQOO, the selection process will be FCFS (First Come First Serve) basis. So even if users answer the questions correctly on the last day, they may have a low chance of getting selected. So it’s better to fill out the form ASAP (As Soon As Possible) if they really want to try out Android 12 on their iQOO 7 before anyone else.
Even users of imported iQOO 7 can register themselves for the Android 12 Beta program but they should have a Chinese phone number as it is mandatory.
