In March, Nubia’s gaming wing launched the Red Magic 6 and Red Magic 6 Pro powered by the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform. The company took to its Weibo handle to confirm that it will be launching a new phone called the Red Magic 6R at 3 PM (local time) on May 27 in China.

Last month, a Nubia smartphone with NX666J model number appeared with full specifications at the TENAA certification site. Later, it got spotted at the Bluetooth SIG authority with RedMagic 6R moniker and Bluetooth 5.2 support. Earlier this month, it got approval from the 3C certification.

The TENAA appearance of the RedMagic 6R has a 6.67-inch OLED panel that produces a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It is yet to be confirmed whether it supports a 120Hz or 144Hz refresh rate.

The Snapdragon 888 SoC is likely to power the device, and it will be arriving in RAM options like 6 GB, 8 GB, and 12 GB. It could be available in storage choices like 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB.

Its rear camera setup has a 64-megapixel and for capturing selfies, it has a 16-megapixel front camera. For security, it features an in-display fingerprint scanner. The 4,100mAh battery is expected to arrive with 55W rapid charging support.

While the RedMagic 6R is packed with topnotch specs, its TENAA images show that it has a toned-down design as compared RedMagic 6 and 6 Pro handsets. Hence, it is likely that it could be positioned lower than the RedMagic 6, which starts at 3,799 Yuan (~$590).
