Meizu recently confirmed that the Snapdragon Wear 4100 chipset, the latest wearable chip from Qualcomm, will power the Meizu Watch. With support for e-SIM, it can work as a standalone device for making voice calls. The inclusion of e-SIM also means that it will carry support for LTE connectivity.

The appearance of the Meizu Watch seems to be inspired by the Apple Watch. It has a square-shaped display with curved edges and round corners. A recent rumor claimed that it will be running on Meizu’s Flyme OS for smartwatches, which will allow users to install third-party apps.

The Meizu Watch is expected to offer users health and fitness-focused features. It is unclear whether the wearable device is equipped with an NFC chip for making contactless payments. The Meizu Watch is now up for reservations through Meizu Mall and JD.com in China. At present, there is no word on the pricing of the device.
