In 2019, Lenovo launched a smart clock that doubles as a smart speaker powered by Google Assistant. It followed it up with a more affordable version called the Smart Clock Essential. This year, we may be getting a successor to the first-gen model and a Bluetooth certification page has revealed it will arrive as the Lenovo Smart Clock 2.

The Lenovo Smart Clock 2 was certified a few weeks ago. It has moel number Lenovo CD-24502F and connects via Bluetooth 5.1. The description says that it is a Bluetooth AI Speaker which means it will keep the smart Bluetooth speaker functionality of its predecessor.

The original launched with a 4-inch HD+ color touchscreen and while we don’t expect the successor to be any larger for a bedside device, we won’t rule out the possibility of that happening. However, a sharper one will be appreciated. We also expect it to have a better speaker, an upgrade from the 3W speaker in the 2019 model.

The Lenovo Smart Clock 2 should have Google Assistant built-in so users can set alarms, timers, and reminders with the Hey Google or Okay Google command. It should also be able to control supported IoT devices such as smart bulbs, thermostats, and cameras.

The first-gen model launched for $80 and it will be a miracle if the successor is priced less.
