OnePlus is rolling out the OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 5 for the OnePlus 7 series and the OnePlus 7T series worldwide. According to the official announcement, this is the final public beta release based on Android 11 for these four smartphones.  Let’s take a look at what it brings to the table.

First and foremost, the OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 5 for Oneplus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T, and OnePlus 7T Pro increments the security patch level to May 2021. Further, like most OxygenOS releases, this one also comes with a number of improvements and fixes.

As per the official changelog, the last-ever Android 11 public beta update for the 2019 OnePlus flagship smartphones arrives with improvements for compatibility issues with certain third-party apps on Android 11, overall phone app stability, WiFi connection stability, overall loading speed of the Gallery app, and animation performance as well as frame rate of Shelf.

Last but not least, this update also fixes call issue on Google Fi app and other know issues, in addition to reducing battery consumption under specific scenarios.

This update is being seeded out via OTA for the units that are currently running the previous beta build. Users can stable build can download and install the beta release manually.
