Samsung has been working on a smartphone with an under-display camera sensor and now it is being reported that the South Korean company has managed to achieve high-resolution for the under-display camera technology.

Further, it is being speculated that the device with this new technology for the front-facing camera could get launched in the second half of this year, and is most likely to go official in the month of August.

With the achievement of high-resolution support, cementing its effectiveness, it remains to be seen what is the yield rate for the manufacturing on this technology. So far, the technology offered lower resolution and not-so-good outcomes.

Samsung will be hosting a launch event in the month of August this year where the South Korean giant is expected to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 3 smartphone along with the Galaxy Z Flip 3 phone. Out of these two, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is said to come with under-display camera technology.

The company will reportedly use technology that works by dividing the display into two portions — a small area with a different pixel structure and lower resolution than the main screen that allows light to get to the camera sensor, along with the main display.

With this new type of implementation, what you get is an unbroken screen. But the downside is that the camera is visible on light backgrounds, something that the current implementation on ZTE Axon 20 5G takes care of.

Apart from Samsung, some other phone manufacturers are also working on this new technology and could launch their own smartphones with the under-display camera set up by the end of this year.
