The Realme GT 5G flagship phone was announced in China back in March. Since then, Realme fans have been eagerly waiting for its global launch. Today, the company held a global unveiling event to launch the Realme Book and Realme Pad as its first laptop and tablet. At the same event, it also took off covers from the Realme GT 5G for the international markets.
Realme GT 5G specifications and features
The Realme GT 5G has a 6.43-inch S-AMOLED display that offers a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 20:9 aspect ratio, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 360Hz touch sampling rate, and a 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut. The punch-hole screen offers a screen-to-body ratio of 91.7 percent.
Unlike the less powerful Realme GT Neo, which features a 32-megapixel selfie camera, the GT 5G features a 16-megapixel front camera. The rear camera system of the Realme GT has a Sony IMX682 64-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The rear cameras support features like super night scene, video night scene, and 60fps 4K recording.
The Snapdragon 888 mobile platform powers the Realme GT 5G with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. It comes preinstalled with Android 11 OS and Realme UI 2.0. The device is backed by a 4,500mAh battery that supports 65W SuperDart rapid charging. The company claims that it takes only 35 minutes to fully charge the smartphone. For heat dissipation, it features a stainless steel VC cooling system.
The other specs that are available on the GT 5G include dual SIM, 5G/4G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, dual-band GPS, NFC, USB-C, a 3.5mm audio jack, Dolby Atmos powered dual stereo speakers, and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The handset measures 158.5 x 73.3 x 8.4mm and weighs 186 grams. Its leather back model has a thickness of 9.1mm and it weighs 186.5 grams.
Realme GT 5G pricing and availability
Here is the pricing of the two variants of the Realme GT 5G:
- 8GB RAM + 256GB storage – 449 euros (~$543)
- 12GB RAM + 256GB storage – 599 euros (~$725)
Color variants: Dashing Silver, Dashing Blue, and Racing Yellow (leather back)
The Realme GT 5G will go on sale from June 28. Early-bird buyers can get the 8 GB variant for 369 euros (~$446) between June 21 and June 25 through AliExpress. On the other side, 12 GB model will be available with an early bird pricing of 499 euros (~$604) on June 21 and June 22 as Primeday offer through Amazon.
