Motorola China is borrowing a leaf from OnePlus‘ The Lab program. The manufacturer has announced today a device testing program for its upcoming flagship phone.

According to the Motorola Weibo account, those who are chosen will get the opportunity to experience the device before its launch. They will also receive a fee unit, and become honorary product managers for the product. Those who are selected will provide feedback on the device and ways that it can be improved.

Motorola Testing Program

Motorola says those who can participate include Motorola fans, photographers, students, teachers, work professionals, and audiophiles. The registration begins today and it will begin shipping the device to those selected starting on July 29.

Based on the time frame above, we can expect the phone itself to be announced in August. While there is no mention of the device’s name, it is most likely Motorola’s Snapdragon 888 Plus-powered phone. Motorola is one of the few manufacturers Qualcomm mentioned that will launch a phone powered by the new chipset.

There is no info on the device testing program launching in other markets.
