Back in April, Huami announced the Amazfit GTR 2 eSIM, a variant of the Amzafit GTR 2 with an embedded SIM that allows users to make and receive calls from their watch. Now, the smartwatch is set to get a global launch but as the Amazfit GTR 2 LTE.

The official Amazfit Global Twitter account shared a product video of the smartwatch ahead of its launch. The video highlights some of the key features of the watch such as 4G connectivity, support for 90 sports modes, and onboard storage.

Huami has not yet revealed when the smartwatch will be announced but we believe it should be around the corner.

The addition of an LTE eSIM won’t be the only difference between the Amazfit GTR 2 LTE and the standard version. The version sold in China comes with a smaller 338mAh battery capacity as against the 471mAh battery inside the standard version. We guess Huami had to shrink the battery size to make space for the eSIM. Save for these two differences, the rest of the specs are the same.

So you get a 1.39-inch AMOLED screen, NFC, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, sleep tracking, and blood oxygen level detection. The Amazfit GTR 2 LTE should also have support for Amazon Alexa when it launches.
