In what can be described as typical of OnePlus, the manufacturer has been releasing bits of information about its upcoming smartphone, the OnePlus Nord 2. The latest info is about the phone’s software support.
According to a tweet by OnePlus India, the OnePlus Nord 2 will come pre-installed with OxygenOS 11 (based on Android 11). An earlier report already revealed that it is actually OxygenOS 11.3 and it will be the first OnePlus phone to come with the new integrated codebase with ColorOS.
Take a deep breath and chill, worrywarts. OnePlus Nord 2 comes pre-installed with OxygenOS 11 backed up by 2 major Android updates and 3 years of security updates.

The tweet also disclosed that the Nord 2 will receive two major Android updates which means it will receive Android 12 and Android 13. In addition to these OS upgrades, the phone will receive security updates for 3 years.

The info above should not be surprising as OnePlus already revealed earlier this month that Nord and Nord CE models will receive two major OS updates and three years of security updates. The more affordable Nord N series will receive only one major OS update but get three years of security updates too.
The OnePlus Nord 2 will have a 90Hz AMOLED display with a single punch-hole at the corner for the front-facing camera. It will be powered by the Dimensity 1200-AI processor, a custom version of the Dimensity 1200 that provides “AI-assisted imaging for an improved photography experience, display enhancements, and better response times for faster and smoother gaming”.
The OnePlus Nord 2 will be announced on July 22.
