Last month, Razer announced the Opus X Bluetooth headphones designed for mobile gaming. Now, it has followed it with the Barracuda X, which is designed to work with all of your gaming consoles and your PC too.

The Barracuda X is also priced at $99 just like the Opus X but they are quite different. While the Opus X connects via Bluetooth, the Barracuda X connects wirelessly via a USB-C dongle using a 2.4GHz wireless technology called Razer HyperSpeed Wireless. This dongle provides ultra-low latency and can be plugged into the USB-C port on the PlayStation 5‘ DualSense 5 controller, Nintendo Switch consoles, PCs, and phones with support for USB-C audio. Users can also connect to any of these devices and the Xbox Wireless Controller using a 3.5mm aux cable.

The headphones which weigh 250 grams have TriForce 40mm drivers. It features thicker headband cushions, earcups that swivel and pivot with memory foam cushions, and a Detachable Razer HyperClear Cardioid Mic. The left earcup is home to the button controls, audio jack, USB-C charging port, and a connector for the removable microphone. Unfortunately, there is no active noise cancellation (ANC).

The Razer Barracuda X has a battery life of 20 hours which is lower when you compare it to the Opus X which goes up to 30 hours with ANC turned on and 40 hours with ANC turned off.
