Design

Both these phones hitten the market with an astonishing design. The Honor 50 Pro has an amazing glass back with a matte but brilliant finish made with a process similar to OPPO’s Reno Glow. It also sports a curved edge to edge display. The Realme GT Master Edition does not have a curved display but it comes with a customized design realized by the known Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa. The design of the Realme GT Master Edition is made of eco leather (not in every color variant) and it reminds of a suitcase. The Realme GT Master Edition is also a more compact phone than Honor 50 Pro, so it is better for one-handed use.

Display

On the paper, the display of the Honor 50 Pro is superior to the one of its opponent. First of all, it is wider with a diagonal of 6.72 inches. Further, it is an OLED panel that is able to show up to one billion colors, while Realme GT Master Edition stops at 16 million colors. The handset also offers a high refresh rate of 120 Hz. The Realme GT Master Edition has an AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate as well, but the color reproduction is more realistic on the Honor 50 Pro. The phones come with an under-display fingerprint reader for authentication. Note that the Honor 50 Pro has a dual punch hole, while its rival has just a single hole in the display.

Specs & Software

We decided to compare the Honor 50 Pro to the Realme GT Master Edition because they are powered by the same chipset: the Snapdragon 778G by Qualcomm. Alongside the Snapdragon 780G (which is not in production anymore), the Snapdragon 778G is the most powerful Qualcomm’s midrange processor. If you want something better, you have to move to the Snapdragon 800 series including flagship SoCs. The Honor 50 Pro wins the hardware comparison because it offers more RAM in its best configuration: up to 12 GB. The phones run Android 11 with Realme UI and Magic UI to customize it, respectively.

Camera

The most advanced camera phone of this comparison is the Honor 50 Pro. First of all, it has a better main sensor for the rear camera, with a resolution of 108 MP and an f/1.9 focal aperture. Further, the Honor 50 Pro has a better front camera setup including a 32 MP main sensor and a 12 MP additional camera for ultrawide selfies. Not only it is a better front camera setup than Realme GT Master Edition, but it is one of the best selfie phones in the current market.

Battery

If you need more battery life, choose the Realme GT Master Edition because it features a bigger battery. With a capacity of 4300 mAh, you will get more juice to reach the end of the day without going out of charge. On the other hand, if you need the fastest charging technology, you should go for the Honor 50 Pro. With a power of 100W, it can fully charge its 4000 mAh battery in just 25 minutes.

Price

The Honor 50 Pro has a starting price of €590/$700 in the Asian market, while Realme GT Master Edition begins at just €320/$380. If we exclude the battery life, the Honor 50 Pro is a superior phone, but you can save a lot of money by choosing the Realme GT Master Edition without facing a lot of compromises.
