It has been about five months since the Meizu 18 and Meizu 18 Pro were announced. Based on last year’s product lineup, we do not expect Meizu to launch any more phones this year, but that may not be the case.

Two new Meizu phones have recently been certified in China and we may see them hit the market soon. The phones have model numbers M182Q and M192Q which is similar to those of the Meizu 18 (M181Q) and Meizu 18 Pro ((M191Q).

While the higher model numbers of the newly registered phones may mean they are successors to the Meizu 18 series or maybe slightly refreshed models, there is also a possibility they are not. According to Digital Chat Station, the leaker who shared screenshots of the phones’ registrations, one of them may have a Snapdragon 870 chipset. Another unconfirmed report we have heard is that one of the two phones will have a Dimensity 1200 chipset.

Based on these, we may not be seeing successors to the Meizu 18 series but less-powereful variants with a more affordable price tag. The Meizu 18 has a starting price of ¥4399 (~$678) while the Meizu 18 Pro has a starting price of ¥4999 (~$770). Meizu fans will be happy to see the manufacturer launch a phone with a more affordable price tag, probably with a starting price of ¥2999 (~$462) or lower.

More details of the new phones should surface in the weeks leading up to their launch and we will be sure to inform you once we get our hands on them.
