Everything you need to know about Apple MFi Certification

Under the MFi program, Apple provides third-party companies with the technical specifications and resources needed to manufacture accessories for Apple products. The MFi program offers a wide range of wireless and wired technologies that third-party brands can use to manufacture accessories for Apple devices.

Manufacturers can apply for the MFi license through Apple and start developing third-party accessories. However, manufacturers dealing with non-electronic accessories, non-MagSafe cases, and Apple Watch bands do not need to apply for MFi certification.

It is always advised to use MFi certified accessories with your Apple products. The MFi program ensures users’ safety as it provides an easy way of finding out counterfeit products. Counterfeit accessories can harm your product. Moreover, non-certified accessories won’t be as durable as the MFi certified ones.
