Starting from today (30th August 2021), Realme has officially raised the prices for a dozen smartphone models in India. The price hike arrives as other brands also raise their offerings’ price tags in the region due to component shortages.

In the Twitter thread, he shared the new prices of a number of smartphones along with the total rise in cost as well. The list of smartphones includes multiple C series of smartphones along with the Realme 8 lineup. Taking a look at the C series pricing first:

  • C11 – 2021 model with 2+32GB now costs ₹7,299 ($100), price hike of ₹300
  • C11 – 2021 model with 4+64GB now costs ₹8,799 ($120), price hike of ₹300
  • C21 – 3+32GB now costs ₹8,999 ($123), price hike of ₹500
  • C21 – 4+64GB now costs ₹9,999 ($136), price hike of ₹500
  • C25s – G85 4+64GB now costs ₹10,999 ($150), price hike of ₹500
  • C25s – G85 4+128GB now costs ₹11999 ($164), price hike of ₹500

Arriving at the Realme 8 lineup, the 4G variant with 6+128GB is now priced at ₹16,999 ($232), marking increase of ₹1,000. This hike in price is consistent with the entire lineup as the 4G variant with 8+128GB also now costs ₹17,999 ($245). Its 5G variant with 4+64GB now goes for ₹15,499 ($211) . Similarly, the 5G variant with 4+128GB and 8+128GB models now cost ₹16,499 ($225) and ₹18,499 ($252) respectively as well.

RealmeNotably, this isn’t the first time the brand hiked the pricing in India. For those unaware, the rise of prices arrives due to a shortage of components or rise in costs of certain parts. Other brands like Redmi, Micromax, Samsung and others, have also raised the prices of their smartphone offerings due to this ongoing issue.
