The Nubia Red Magic 6S Pro would follow RedMagic’s design language with a more gamer aesthetic design with RGB lighting. The upcoming gaming phone from Nubia would be coming in two designs – one with an opaque and glossy black back as seen in an unboxing video by Youtuber ZolloTech and another one with a transparent rear panel as teased by Nubia. We speculate that the transparent back would be exclusive to the higher-end storage variant or a special transparent edition like previous models. The RedMagic 6S Pro would come with an FHD+ 6.8-inch AMOLED  panel with a refresh rate of 165Hz and a touch sampling rate of 720Hz. The display is said to offer a peak brightness of 700 nits. Moreover, the front also houses an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The upcoming smartphone might bring a triple rear camera setup. The rear camera setup is expected to be led by a 64MP primary camera paired with an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP camera. The gaming phone would be capable of recording 4K 60fps or 8K 30fps footages, and it also supports HDR. On the front, the 6S Pro would be having an 8MP selfie camera housed inside the upper chin of the smartphone. 

Hardware and Software

Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 888+ chipset would power the Nubia RedMagic 6S Pro gaming phone. Coming to memory configurations, the smartphone is expected to offer different memory options, including 8GB /12GB /16GB of RAM and 128GB /256GB /512GB of internal storage. Further, the smartphone is expected to come with a 5,050mAh supporting 120W air-cooled fast charging.

The upcoming Nubia branded gaming phone is also said to bring different heat dissipation measures onboard to ensure the longevity of the hardware. Nubia has teased a new ICE7.0 nine-layer multi-dimensional three-dimensional cooling system for the Red Magic 6S Pro. Apart from this, the smartphone would be coming with a built-in turbo cooling fan. Further, it will utilize phase-change thermal conductivity materials, graphene sheet, copper foil, VC soaking plate to ensure long-term gaming performance.

The Red Magic 6S Pro would be running Red Magic OS 4.5, which is said to optimize the gaming experience up by a notch. The Red Magic OS 4.5 will be built on top of Android 11, and it will bring several gaming features such as customizing touch sampling rate, refresh rate, turning the turbofan on and off, performance boost, and much more.

Pricing, Colors and Availability

There’s no word on the pricing or availability of Red Magic 6S Pro yet. However, the smartphone is believed to come in different storage configurations. The storage variants include “Cyborg 12GB RAM + 128GB Storage,” “Cyborg 16GB RAM + 256GB Storage,” and a “Ghost 16GB RAM + 256GB Storage.” The ‘Cyborg’ could be the branding for the black color, whereas ‘Ghost’ could be a codename for the transparent edition teased by Nubia. Nubia will also be announcing a Power Bank and Fly Wise G1 Controller alongside the new gaming phone.

The Nubia Red Magic 6S Pro will launch in China on September 6.
