iQOO has unveiled the iQOO Z5 5G smartphone in China. It has arrived as the successor to the Snapdragon 768G powered iQOO Z3 5G that debuted in March in China. The major highlights of the iQOO Z5 5G include a 120Hz display, a more powerful Snapdragon 7-series chipset, a 5,000mAh battery, and a 64-megapixel triple camera unit.
iQOO Z5 5G specifications and features
The iQOO Z5 5G has a 6.67-inch IPS LCD panel with a punch-hole design. The display supports a 20:9 aspect ratio, a 1080 x 2400 pixels Full HD+ resolution, up to 120Hz of refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and a 1500:1 contrast ratio. It also supports HDR10 and P3 color gamut. The smartphone offers a screen space of 91.36 percent.
The Snapdragon 778G chipset is present under the hood of the iQOO Z5 5G. The handset comes with 8 GB / 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128 GB / 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. For more storage, it has a microSD card slot onboard. The smartphone runs on OriginOS 1.0 for iQOO, which is based on Android 11 OS.
The Z5 is fitted with a front camera of 16-megapixel. The rear-mounted camera module has a 64-megapixel main camera with an f/1.79 aperture. It is accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 2-megapixel macro camera. When it comes to photography, the Z5 offers features like night scene mode, dual-view mode, portrait mode, professional mode, time-lapse, up to 1080p slow-motion video shooting, and up to 4K video recording.
The iQOO Z5 has a 5,000mAh battery that carries support for 44W fast charging. The company claims that it can gain 50 percent battery juice by charging it only for 26 minutes. The flagship-level VC liquid-cooling system offers a total heat dissipation area of 28837mm2. It offers other features like dual SIM support, 5G, extended RAM, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, USB-C, a side-facing fingerprint scanner, face unlock, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The iQOO Z5 5G measures 164.70 x 76.68 x 8.53mm and weighs 195 grams. The Dream Space color variant of the device that has a lined design on its back measures 9.53mm in thickness.

The iQOO Z5 5G’s is available for pre-sale starting from today in China. Its first sale will be carried out on Sept. 28. The Z5 is set to launch in India on Sept. 27.
