Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun today revealed with a post on Weibo that the entirety of the Redmi Note 11 series will be retaining the headphone jack. He also highlighted that there aren’t many phones around anymore that still keep it.
The latter may sound unreasonable to some though considering most of the budget offerings continue to offer the trusty 3.5mm standard. But it is to be noted here that the Redmi Note 11 series isn’t exactly a budget offering anymore. Or at least that’s what the latest rumors seem to suggest.
While the most affordable in the lineup – Redmi Note 11 – will reportedly be starting at CNY 1199 (roughly $187), the priciest variant might cost CNY 2499 (~$391), which is the highest ever for any Redmi Note model.
This puts the priciest variant i.e., Redmi Note 11 Pro+ in the midrange segment. And headphone jacks have indeed grown scarce at that price point of late. The phone is thus a great alternative for audiophiles who wish to stick to wired headphones but also desire decent specifications.
And speaking of specifications, the Redmi Note 11 series is rumored to actually have a serious upgrade over the Redmi Note 10 series. There are talks about the top model coming with a Mediatek Dimensity 920, which is an upper-midrange 5G processor.
Do note here that none of this has been confirmed officially yet, so it’s advisable to take it all with a pinch of salt.
What is confirmed till now is that the Redmi Note 11 series will sport Samsung AMOLED displays with high refresh rate support and narrow bezels. Further, the phones will come with a triple rear camera setup and have side-mounted fingerprint scanners. Also revealed was that AG glass for the rear panel will be standard across the lineup.
