Redmi became an independent brand in 2019. But only in 2020, we saw the brand entering multiple product categories. One of them was wearable. The company not only released a fitness tracker called Redmi Band but also a smartwatch dubbed as Redmi Watch. A year later, these two products are now about to get a successor in the form of Redmi Smart Band Pro and Redmi Watch 2. Let’s take a look at them one by one, starting with the smartwatch.

Redmi Watch 2

Redmi has confirmed to launch the Redmi Watch 2 on October 28 in China. It will be unveiled alongside the Redmi Note 11 series. So far, we only know a few details about this product.

Redmi Watch 2 Display B For starters, the smartwatch will have a 1.6-inch rectangular AMOLED display with a larger screen-to-body ratio. In comparison, the original Redmi Watch sports a smaller 1.4-inch LCD screen.

Thanks to retailer listings, we also know the colors of this device as well as its price. It will be offered in three hues, namely Elegant Black, Space Blue, and Ivory. As far as price is concerned, it is expected to retail at ¥399 ($63).

Although we are only two days away from the announcement, we still expect the company to shed more details on its second-generation smartwatch in the next few hours. We will update this article if new teasers come up.

For now, going by the specs of the Redmi Watch, we can expect the Redmi Watch 2 to arrive with a customized RTOS, GPS, heart rate sensor, multiple sports modes, sleep monitoring, water resistance, and more.

Redmi Smart Band Pro

Unlike the Redmi Watch 2, we don’t have any official launch date for the Redmi Smart Band Pro. However, a leak by Roland Quandt of WinFuture recently revealed that this wearable will be also going official on October 28 but in Europe instead of China.

Xiaomi released the Redmi Band with a different name in Europe. It is known as Mi Smart Band 4C in the region. Hence, the Redmi Band Pro will be the first Redmi-branded fitness tracker in this part of the world.

As opposed to the original Redmi Band, which looks like a flat Mi Band, the newer Pro model will resemble  HONOR Band 6. It will have a larger rectangular display but the type of panel is not known yet. For those unaware, the older model uses an LCD screen.

Unfortunately, not much else is known about this wearable just like the Redmi Watch 2. As of now, from the renders, we can see that the Redmi Band Pro will have a heart rate sensor and will use a pogo pin charging connector instead of direct USB charging like the Redmi Band.

As far as features are concerned, we can expect the fitness tracker to come with multiple sports modes, water resistance, app notifications, sleep monitoring, and others.

Weirdly, the renders only showcase the product in black color option but the company should sell different colored straps separately.  Having said that, this story will be updated if more leaks and teasers show up in the next few hours ahead of the official launch.
