In the last months, Xiaomi launched two brand new devices not having a predecessor. The Xiaomi CIVI is the first phone from the Civi series and it replaces the CC series by retaining a great design. Meanwhile, in the Redmi Note series the first Pro+ variant made its debut in China: the Redmi Note 11 Pro+. Both are Xiaomi phones and both are sold in the same price range: so, which one should you choose? There is no universal answer to this question and it mostly depends on the users’ needs. This comparison between Redmi Note 11 Pro+ and Xiaomi Civi will help you to understand the differences.

Design
The Xiaomi Civi is one of the most beautiful phones ever. It comes with an outstanding glass back made with a matte but brilliant finish similar to OPPO Glow. Further, it has an aluminum frame and it is one of the thinnest and most lightweight phones in the last generation. It is just 7 mm thin and weighs just 166 grams. Last but not least, it has a curved screen on the front which makes it even more elegant. The Redmi Note 11 Pro+ comes with a glass back and a chunkier design: it is far from being one of the best phones in terms of design, so it loses the design comparison.
Display
Despite both the phones featuring an OLED panel, the display of the Xiaomi Civi is at a higher level. It is an OLED panel that shows up to one billion colors and supports a 120 Hz refresh rate, the HDR10+ certification, and Dolby Vision. The Redmi Note 11 Pro+ has a good OLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate and HDR10, but it lacks HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, and it is not able to show all those colors. Further, the Xiaomi Civi features an in-display fingerprint scanner, unlike the Redmi Note 11 Pro+. Thanks to its smaller display (6.55 inches vs 6.67 inches), the Xiaomi Civi is more compact and ergonomic.
Hardware/Software
According to benchmarks, the Snapdragon 778G mobile platform found on the Xiaomi Civi is slightly more powerful than the MediaTek Dimensity 920 of the Redmi Note 11 Pro+. And that is not all: the Xiaomi Civi packs up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage, while you can get a max of 8 GB of RAM with the Redmi Note 11 Pro+. Further, the Snapdragon 778G has a better integrated 5G modem with the support of mmWave (besides sub-6 GHz frequencies). So the Xiaomi Civi offers something more when it comes to hardware. The software is exactly the same: the phones run Android 11 customized by MIUI 12.5.
Camera
The Redmi Note 11 Pro+ is an interesting camera phone in the midrange segment because it comes with a 108 MP main camera providing a very high level of detail. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Civi is a superior selfie phone thanks to its amazing 32 MP front camera. On the rear side, the Xiaomi Civi has an average 64 MP sensor, while the secondary sensors are the same for both handsets: an 8 MP ultrawide lens and a 2 MP macro camera. None of these devices is a high-end camera phone (so you won’t get amazing photos in low light conditions), but they both offer good photo quality.
Battery
Despite its incredibly thin design, the Xiaomi Civi has the same battery capacity as the Redmi Note 11 Pro+: 4500 mAh. Due to its smaller display, the Xiaomi Civi should offer a longer battery life on a single charge. But the efficiency of a phone does not only depend on the display: there are a lot of other components to consider, so there may be scenarios in which Redmi Note 11 Pro+ is actually better. Further, the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ has a faster charging technology (120W vs 55W).
Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus vs Xiaomi CIVI: Price
The starting price of the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ in China is €260/$300, while Xiaomi Civi starts from €343/$396. You can save a lot of money with the Redmi Note 11 Pro+, but the Xiaomi Civi wins this comparison due to its amazing design and display.
