iQOO is reportedly working on a new U-series phone called the iQOO U5. The handset has now appeared in the IMEI database with its model number.

As seen in the above screengrab, a Vivo phone with model number V2165A is listed with the iQOO U5 moniker at the IMEI database. Leaked information that appeared earlier this month revealed that the company is planning to launch the iQOO U5 series of smartphones before the end of the year in China. Hence, there is a possibility that the U5 lineup may go official in December.

The leak also revealed that the iQOO U5 will be powered by the Dimensity 810 chipset. The other specs of the U5 are under wraps. It is likely to rival the Redmi Note 11 series of smartphones that debuted recently in China.

Recent reports have revealed that iQOO is gearing up to launch two new phones called the iQOO Neo 5s and iQOO Neo6 SE this month in China. The former is expected to arrive with specs like a 120Hz OLED screen, Snapdragon 888 chip, a 4,500mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging, a 48-megapixel Sony IMX598 primary camera with OIS support, a 16-megapixel front camera, 12 GB of RAM, 256 GB of native storage, and dual speakers.

The iQOO Neo6 SE is likely to feature the Snapdragon 778G or the newer Snapdragon 778G Plus chipset. The smartphone is expected to carry support for 66W fast charging.
