Xiaomi is expected to host a new product launch event by the end of this year or early next year to announce its next-generation flagship smartphones — Xiaomi 12 series, which will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 chipset.

Unlike its predecessors, it appears that along with the launch in China, the Xiaomi 12 series smartphones will also get launched in the global markets. The global version of the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro with model numbers 2201122G and 2201123G have received EEC certification, indicating an imminent launch.

Further, the Xiaomi 12 with model number 2201122G has also passed through the BIS certification process, which indicates that the smartphone is also gearing up for launch in India, possibly with the Redmi Note 11 Pro/Pro+ models.

The Xiaomi 12 series smartphones are expected to enter the mass production phase pretty soon and will then be joined by the Xiaomi MIX 5. If the reports are to be believed, then the standard model Xiaomi 12 is expected to get launched in December this year while the Pro and Ultra models will get launched early next year.

As for the specifications, the Xiaomi 12 is expected to come with a curved display and a center-aligned punch hole for housing the selfie snapper. It will feature a 2K screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and will come packed with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB storage.

The phone is expected to have Samsung ISOCELL GN5 50-megapixel sensor as the primary camera while the other two sensors are expected to be wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lenses. The device could be running the Android 12 operating system with the company’s own MIUI and come with support for 120W fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
