In early October, OnePlus released Android 12-based OxygenOS 12 Open Beta 1 for the OnePlus 9 series. A little over a month later, the devices now get access to Open Beta 2. The latest update brings fixes for issues faced by users in the initial build.
According to the official announcement post on OnePlus Community, OxygenOS 12 Open Beta 2 update for OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro is being rolled out via OTA for units that are already on Open Beta 1. If a user on the stable channel wishes to try the new build, they will need to install the first build and then update to the fresh release.
As per the official changelog, the latest pubic beta brings optimizations for status bar fluency, battery life, and charging speed. Most importantly, it brings fixes for status bar not displaying apps, auto-brightness failing, desktop widgets displaying abnormally, cloud service not opening in Notes, and status bar not displaying battery of Bluetooth earphones.
The new release also bumps up the security patch level to November 2021 and improves system stability as well as camera app stability.
Since it is beta software, it also has a number of known and unknown issues. Hence, install it only if you are used to such conditions.

- Auto-rotate for desktop may be delayed under some using scenes
- Probable issue of WLAN automatically disconnected
- The camera will freeze when taking videos in 4K 60hz mode
- Notifications for some apps will automatically be switched on
- Global Search may not response
- Background Apps may automatically switch off under the using scene of low RAM
