HiSilicon is a Huawei-owned semiconductor company. It is known for Kirin-branded mobile SoCs that once powered a myriad of HUAWEI and HONOR smartphones. This division has now announced a new chipset for FHD TVs.
Hi3731V110 is the name of HiSilicon’s new ATV (Advanced Television) chip. It is designed for TVs with a full-definition (FHD, 1080p) display.
The latest silicon from the company features a 32-bit self-developed CPU based on RISC-V architecture. The chipset supports Huawei’s in-house LiteOS, which offers a fast startup.
Being a chip for television, it comes with support for standard audio/video demodulations. It is compatible with mainstream video and audio codecs as well.
Since it is an SoC (System on Chip), it also features a GPU for video enhancements. Additionally, It also has a built-in TCON (Timing Controller).
The chipset can deliver content up to 1080p at 60Hz. It has support for all the modern ports like HDRMI with eARC, USB 2.0, and S/PDIF to name a few.
