Korean tech giant LG has just filed a new patent application for a foldable display for the infotainment system in cars. The patent is filed with the World Intellectual Property Organisation(WIPO) and it showcases the unique foldable car infotainment display.

According to the patent, the foldable car infotainment display is similar to the foldable phone that LG showcased earlier this year. However, the foldable phone project is already wrapped up and LG seems to focus on foldable gadgets for cars and other entertainment devices.

LG to launch foldable car infotainment system

Taking a look at the device, the display panel of the foldable car infotainment system unfolds from a smaller screen to a larger display. Interestingly, the panel can display content even when it’s folded or unfolded. It is touted to be using the popular rollable display technology from its rollable smartphone from Q1 2021.

Since it is foldable, it is expected to save some space when it’s unfolded. We aren’t sure what are the features of the device. But, we expect to hear more about it in the upcoming leaks.
