Several reports have claimed that Vivo will be launching the Vivo S12 series of selfie-focused smartphones this month in China. Today, the company released an official confirmation that it will be announcing the Vivo S12 lineup at 7:30 PM (local time) on Dec. 22 in the home market. The reservations of the S12 series have also started in the country.

The official teaser released by the brand only confirms the arrival of the Vivo S12 lineup and has no information on its specs and design. Earlier this year, the company unveiled the Vivo S10 and Vivo S10 Pro smartphones in China. These phones will be replaced by the Vivo S12 and S12 Pro.

The S12 and S12 Pro will be the company’s first phones to come preinstalled with the OriginOS Ocean UI, which was announced last week in China. The S10 series featured the Dimensity 1100 chipset, but the S12 lineup will be equipped with the more powerful Dimensity 1200 SoC.

Vivo S12 Pro specifications (Rumored)

Shown below is a leaked render of the Vivo S12 Pro. It shows the phone sporting a flat display with a wide notch. However, previous leaks have claimed that the S12 Pro will be equipped with a curved edge panel. Hence, it is likely that the image may belong to vanilla S12. The rear view of the phone shows that it is fitted with a 108-megapixel triple camera unit.

The Vivo S12 Pro leaks have revealed that it will be equipped with a 50-megapixel (main) + 8-megapixel (ultrawide) dual selfie camera system. The Dimensity 1200 powered phone may carry support for 44W fast charging. However, there is no word on its battery size. Readers are advised to wait for further reports to know more details on the specs of the S12 and S12 Pro.
