HMD Global, the company behind Nokia-branded smartphones, was once known for faster update delivery. Unfortunately, it is no longer the case. Anyway, the firm’s Nokia X20 has now started receiving Android 12 stable update in multiple regions.
According to the official announcement post (via NokiaPowerUser) on Nokia Phones Community, HMD Global has begun to roll out Android 12 stable update for the Nokia X20 in the following regions as part of wave 1.
- Austria
- Belgium
- Croatia (Tele2, Vipnet)
- Denmark
- Egypt
- Estonia
- Finland
- Germany
- Hong Kong
- Hungary (Telenor HU)
- Iceland
- Iran
- Iraq
- Jordan
- Latvia
- Lebanon
- Lithuania
- Luxembourg
- Malaysia
- Netherlands (Tele2 NL, VF, T-Mobile)
- Norway
- Portugal
- Romania
- Slovakia (O2 – SK)
- Spain
- Sweden
- Switzerland
All users in the above-listed countries should receive the latest system update by December 17. The company will notify regarding the rollout of the update in other regions as part of wave 2 in the coming days.
The Nokia X20 was one of the few devices part of the Android 12 Beta program earlier this year. The device received its first Developer Preview between the end of August and early September.
This means it took HMD Global took over 3 months to deliver the stable update. The newly released software build arrives with build number V2.350 and weighs 2.18GB. Despite releasing in December, it comes bundled with November 2021 security patches.
