The Xiaomi 12 series has officially been confirmed to launch on December 28th and it is expected that MIUI 13 will make its debut alongside it. The series will be comprised of the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12 Ultra, although the lattermost is expected to be launched later, sometime in early 2022.

Ahead of the launch, most of the specifications of the three devices are already known, and Xiaomi yesterday even released official images showcasing the front of the Xiaomi 12 and its Pro variant for the very first time.

And today, Wang Hua, general manager of Xiaomi’s public relations department, posted a new teaser concerning both Xiaomi 12 as well as MIUI 13 saying that “the watermark is gone after the upgrade, it seems…”.

While we admit that the post is rather cryptic, it’s what’s the GM commented underneath it is that’s exciting. Wang Hua says that he’s already used MIUI 13 and the “system should be able to seal the package within these two days.”

From this, it seems that the MIUI 13 stable update for the Xiaomi 12 is under its final stages of testing and will be shipped out with the device when it launches on December 28th. It is safe to also assume that the build will be based on Android 12, making the device the very first from Xiaomi to run the version out of the box.
