As the year is fast approaching an end, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus is rolling out OxigenOS updates to its older devices, bumping up their security level and fixing some major issues.

Last week, the OnePlus 7 series devices received a firmware update which fixed a major bug with the smartphone, and now, OnePlus has released the latest patch for OnePlus 8 devices as well. According to a report by AndroidPolice, the OnePlus 8, and OnePlus 8 Pro are picking up OxygenOS 11.0.10.10.

According to the official changelog posted by OnePlus on their community forum, the patch brings the latest December security update to the devices along with multiple bug fixes to both the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. These fixes reported by the company are
- System
- Optimized the UI display of Settings interface
- Fixed the issue that Google Assistant and Gpay doesn’t display as expected in the Setup Wizard
- Fixed the low probability issue of WhatsApp crash
- Updated Android security patch to 2021.12
Although the changelog suggests that the latest update fixes the settings interface bug but from the comments below the post it can be observed that people are still facing this issue.
For those unaware, the OnePlus 8 series devices as well as some other devices have been facing issues with the settings UI that has been causing icons and options to misalign. Not a system-breaking bug but isn’t very pretty to look at either.
The company has confirmed that the update is rolling out in phases, which means the update may not be available on your device just yet. However, we can expect OnePlus to roll out the OxygenOS 11.0.10.10 update widely for the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro in the coming weeks.
