OnePlus rolled out Android 12-based OxygenOS 12 stable update for the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro earlier this month. Unfortunately, it did not go as planned. The brand had to halt the rollout due to bugs. Even after a re-release, customers are facing some issues. To address them, the company is now seeding out yet another software update for the handsets.
According to an official announcement post on OnePlus Community, the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro are receiving a new system update. The latest software builds for the smartphones arrive with firmware version C.40.

Yes, you heard it right. OxygenOS OS’ firmware numbers are now similar to OPPO’s ColorOS. This is obvious as OxygenOS 12 is nothing but a fork of ColorOS 12.
Going by the official changelog, the update fixes system upgrade failure faced by some users. Also, it fixes the inability to access 5G networks. Both these major issues should be not present in a stable release in the first place. Anyway, at least, the brand has fixed them now.
Like any other OTA software update, this one is also being rolled out in batches. It should be available in markets other than the aforementioned regions in the coming days.
