In yet another remarkable life-saving feat of the Apple Watch, an Atlanta, US elderly man has been saved from death because his Apple Watch detected the fall and alerted emergency services. The news was first reported by the Atlanta CB546 News network and it happened on January 22.

The elderly man’s watch had detected the fall, and in the absence of a response from the device that he was fine, the watch alerted the Clayton County Emergency Communications Center.

According to Morrow City Fire Department Deputy Chief Jeff Moss, the first responders arrived at the scene with the Moro police but it was slightly different from the actual location of the man. The man was said to be semi-conscious and delirious, and it took just 12 minutes for him to be located from the time his Apple Watch called for help.

The man was taken to a health facility and treated. It is believed that his condition could have been worse if his Apple Watch was absent. The man’s name was not mentioned and his actual age was not stated.

Apple has racked up lots of life-saving stories relating to the Fall Detection feature in the Apple Watch. The Apple Watch continues to earn its stripes as a lifesaver in addition to its health and fitness functions.
