The OnePlus 10 Pro made its debut in China in January. Unlike previous generations, it was not accompanied by the vanilla model. The smartphone is said to launch in international markets like India in March. Ahead of that, crucial information about the handset’s software has emerged.

According to Yogesh Brar (via 91Mobiles), the unified OS from OPPO and OnePlus has been delayed. Therefore, the global variant of the OnePlus 10 Pro will run OxygenOS 12 based on Android 12.

Last year, OnePlus switched to ColorOS in China with the launch of the OnePlus 9 series. In international markets, it continues to use OxygenOS, however, it is now based on the integrated codebase of ColorOS and OxygenOS.

In the second half of 2021, OnePlus revealed that both OPPO and OnePlus phones will use a new unified operating system starting from 2022. This OS was rumored to debut on the international version of the OnePlus 10 Pro although the official spec sheet released by the brand last month mentions OxygenOs 12.

For those unaware, OnePlus clearly said that the new operating system will be based on the major Android update that will be released in 2022. In other words, whatever OS OPPO and OnePlus are cooking up, it will be based on Android 13 and will most likely go official in the second half of this year.
