Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Tab S8 series alongside the Galaxy S22 series at the Galaxy Unpacked 2022 event. The three tablets in the family feature different sized displays and panel types. However, they come with fingerprint solutions from a common supplier – Goodix.

Goodix Technologies took to Weibo to disclose that the latest premium Android tablets from Samsung use its fingerprint solutions. The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra and the Galaxy Tab S8+ flaunt the company’s under-screen optical fingerprint solution. On the other hand, the Galaxy Tab S8 sports an ultra-narrow side capacitive fingerprint solution.

Additionally, Goodix is also the supplier of the touch controller for the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra’s massive 14.6-inch WQXGA+ (2960 x 1848 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The last time Goodix announced the presence of its tech in a major consumer product was in late December. The company revealed that the Xiaomi 12 Pro houses its first under-screen ambient light sensor.

As far as the Galaxy Tab S8 series is concerned, it is the successor of the Galaxy Tab S7 series from 2020. Instead of two models, the latest family includes three with the introduction of ‘Ultra’. The entire lineup consists of all the high-end features one can expect from premium Android tablets from Samsung.

All three of them are already up for pre-order in markets like the US. They will be available for purchase starting February  25.
