Samsung has started rolling out the much-anticipated Android 14 update in Europe for its Galaxy Tab 8 series. The Tab S8, S8+, and S8 Ultra are now set to undergo a transformation with the latest One UI 6.0 upgrade.
Owners of the Tab S8 series can expect a firmware update per variant: X706BXXU5CWK7 for the vanilla S8, X806BXXU5CWK7 for the Plus model, and X906BXXU5CWK7 for the Ultra flagship. Alongside these updates, the tablets will also receive the November 2023 security patch, which gets rid of 37 vulnerabilities.
The One UI 6.0 update promises “a new look for your Galaxy,” introducing changes to the home screen and lock screen. Additionally, users can anticipate revamped versions of apps such as Wallet and Members, along with Android 14-related tweaks that enhance permission settings for user data.
In addition to the above-mentioned changes, the update reveals that the tablets will also enjoy additional changes and improvements to multitasking, popup windows, and multi-window functionality as well as more updates to many other stock applications including Samsung DeX.
For those outside Europe patiently awaiting the update, rest assured that Samsung tends to roll out updates gradually, and it should reach your device in a matter of days.
